Hello again world.

Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun 'n' games...

Well that would be more in the line of what I like to say, but there is not that much fun and games at the moment.

Perhaps I should not say that there is not much going on, it’s the MLB playoffs going on as well as the NFL being in full bloom, so there is plenty of games to watch.

I have never before been a fan of baseball, but since I started working for a betting company this has changed, as I have had more interaction with the sport and the betting markets.
I have to say that I really enjoy the game and I've become a big fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Having them in the in the American League series final versus Detroit is exciting and fun, however I am truly impressed by how Detroit has started, even though I have to say that the end of game 2 was so great in the way Boston turned it around for a tied series and wow, in what a fashion, go check it out if you have not seen it.

No matter what, I admit that I have become a fan and I will be there from the start of next season to cheer and jinx bet when necessary, perhaps I need to place a few bucks on Detroit in the coming games as well just to help Boston even things out.

While talking about stuff that is not exactly going my way I can say that I am a NY Giants fan, which is NOT easy to admit a year like this.

Having Eli as the worst QB in the league and a defensive line that is stopping fewer approaches than the hookers close to Stratosphere in Las Vegas does not exactly help the cause.

And for me to have a bet with a friend, of which team to finish highest in the division of my Giants and his Cowboys… I think I’ll have to pay up.

Together with all this we have the Premier League, in which there has been an interesting start as a Liverpool supporter, now we just have to keep this up for a bit so that the players themselves start to believe it is possible to be up there and fight.

I have since my latest post here been writing a bit at 2 different places, however for some reason I still prefer to write in English in order to help improve my language skills, as well as I have more freedom in my writing as I am not only writing about poker, mostly because my poker has been lacking in both skill and the hours lately.

I will do a bit of thinking the coming week and make up my mind about where I would like to write, as it's just silly to move around like I've been doing.

Until my next post, have a great time and take some time off and enjoy yourselves.

Monday BBQ

Monday, February 04, 2013 Posted by Alexander Lucas 1 comment

As mentioned several times before I mostly write in Swedish now, but once in a while I will surprise you with an entry here just for kicks, or for being bored, whatever makes more sense at the time.

After  long week at work I rounded it off yesterday with the biggest night of the year, the Super Bowl.
The company bought some Chinese food and some pizzas, nothing that was very impressive, but I appreciate the gesture of which is was intended and it got us through the night.

Sadly the result of the final was not in the favor of the team I wanted to win and instead we got to see Baltimore Ravens take it down, and even though I am not impressed by the team itself I must admit that they impressed me yesterday, now that’s all I’m gonna say about that, fuck Ravens...

Today and tomorrow night I am off from work and I have plans to do as little as possible, just relax and enjoy the time off, so I decided to treat Stubben, Scott and Fjuno to some food this nice relaxing Monday.
After all we need to show Scott how we dine in Sweden, so I ordered a lot of stuff from Maltasupermarket.com and planned on delivery around 15.30 on Monday.

I got to bet after my shift at around 7.30-7.45 and was not jumping with joy when the phone rang and woke me up at 11.00 and it was from Maltasupermarket and they wanted to inform me that they were all out of fresh fillet steak and asked if I wanted frozen instead, which I did not want of course.

Instead I got my fat ass out of bed after the entire 3 ½ hours of sleep and ordered a taxi to take me to San Gwann and Chef’s Choice since I’ve heard good things about it, Mattias was already up and joined me.
Well there we found bull fillet and bought 1.4 kilos for 28 euros which I must say was a good price, and on the way back we stopped off at Subway to buy breakfast of course.

Back at the apartment there was about 1 hour to relax and watch some tv before the groceries arrived and me and Mattias got started with peeling and cutting up potatoes for the potato gratin, and making all other preparations.

Around 17.30 we fired up the oven and the barbeque and got started, and Fjuno joined us around 18.20, and around the time the food was about to be done we kicked on Scotts door to wake him up from his beauty sleep to make sure he got some food before he was gonna take off for work.

I think we all enjoyed the dinner and had a nice time chatting about everything and nothing, I have posted some pictures from the evening below if you would like to have a look.

Happy Holiday

Tuesday, December 25, 2012 Posted by Alexander Lucas No comments

So the holidays are here and everyone is in the spirit of Christmas, or so one would think.

I’m in Malta, and adapting the holiday spirit is pretty much impossible when there is 15-20 degrees outside during the days, and the days when the weather is bad there is 13-15 degrees and rain.

So no matter how many Christmas lights they place around the island there will still not be the correct setting for a true Christmas. And since I’ll be working on the 24th (the day we celebrate in Sweden) and the 25th (when they celebrate in Malta) it does not matter in the same way.

This is now the 2nd year in a row that I will be in Malta during Christmas and New Years and now that my brother has 2 sons I really feel that I want to be a part of next years Christmas, so unless I am in the States during that time I will make sure to be home in Sweden to take part and celebrate with the family, or at least be there to give the kinds some gifts, it is after all a time for the children.

For it to be a “real” Christmas I feel that I need the snow, and even though I would be pissed as hell at this point over all the snow if I were in Sweden I still feel like I miss the feel and sight of some white landscape with some lights during the evenings darkness.

At least I had a quick skype call with the family so I could wish them all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and always nice to see the nephews for a bit, and Viggo told me the 25th is his birthday and asked when I was coming home, which of course struck an emotional cold in this otherwise so cold body, and we’ll see how the future looks and if there is any flights suitable to book and go back for a bit.

I will spend my time at the office during the nights the coming 2 weeks, which in a way is not something I feel is bad either, since I do not have a staking deal set up (even though I got an interesting offer in the week) I will just be playing smaller 45man sit n goes when I’m off from work, but I still want to get back to the MTT grind, and if I’ll get the deal set up I’ll probably pick up some small pieces here and there and set up a real grinding station so to keep the max focus running all session long.

I guess a lot of people is looking to set goals and resolutions for the year 2013, but I have never really been a person that does that.

I have always had 1 set resolution and that is that I should have a happier, more fun year than the last, and I have to admit to myself that this has not been the case the last 2 years, of course this is all my own fault, and something I need to correct for the coming year.

There might be a few other goals that I am also thinking about setting up, and I will post them as soon as I have decided what they are, the only problem is that I am not a person that feel “bad” if I am not fulfilling any of the goals, I am not the person that feel like “I WILL DO THIS”, and have never been, I have always taken things the way they are and that’s it, but I guess that is due to the fact that I’ve not taken myself that serious overall.

Too many people take themselves way to seriously and feel they have to do certain things because it is expected of them and so on, I mean who the fuck would tell you what to do?

Think about yourself and your family first, and if you do not have time for anything else then do not even bother what anyone else think, and never ever feel the pressure to “have to” do something.

I will try and finish this shift off and the night has been long and boring as hell, glad I had Adam Carolla on the mp3 to keep me through the night, and I also railed -G- for a bit on his grind through skype, which is always fun.

We’ll see how the future looks and even though I have nothing to write about I will try and update at least once in a while, 1 month without a post is WAY to shitty, but I doubt there is anyone reading here anymore, I guess the few of you that read my blog will be reading the Swedish one.

If I come up with any resolutions for 2013 I will post them for you, so we all can break them together for moral support.

Take care and happy holidays people !

Motivation ?

Wednesday, November 21, 2012 Posted by Alexander Lucas 1 comment

There is a lot of stuff that I wish I could do here in life, and not stuff like being the fastest man, or beat Tyson in his prime or such goals that is just not possible.

But for example, take this with training and working out and getting in shape for example.
I want to be a more fit guy than I am (which is not that hard), but I have so fucking hard to find a motivation that sticks.

For example today I was at the gym before work because I felt like it, so I went there and lifted some weights and ended with peddling the bike for 20 minutes and managed to run it up to 9.38km at least.

During the cycling I listened to a motivational speech that you can find below, but I have ripped the sound and imported it to my mp3 player to try and motivate me a bit more the few times I actually do anything.
Some annoying sound in the beginning, but then it gets good.

And yes I felt very motivated and all that, but once tomorrow morning come I will once again feel the same as most days, that I just do not have the energy or the motivation to actually get my fat ass going to do anything, and along with this is the fact that I do not feel it being a fun time while at the gym, as I know there are people that do (unless they all lie).

So then the question remains, what to do ?

I am a bit scared to say this, but I guess “nothing” is the answer that often comes to mind, mostly because I feel as there is not many years left here in life anyway where you can actually do anything even if you are fit, so why spend time and money on something that is not an enjoyment for you ?

Some people say “but what if you get sick?” or “you can die if you do not get I shape”, but regarding the last of those 2 I have no fear of dying, this will come no matter what you do.

The first is a bit of a concern though, I admit that, because I do not want to become a drooler that can not take care of himself, if that day come I really hope that I have nice friends that will end it for me haha.

When it comes to motivation, one of the biggest obstacles that I feel that is holding me back is that I am a realistic person in that instance that I know that for me to get in acceptable shape there would be a couple of years of hard work and probably a big change in diet.

And probably also for something that I would not even like to eat, which is the entire thing with food, that it is supposed to be an enjoyment to sit down and having something to eat, not just something to stuff your belly with in order to keep functioning.

One of those hypothetical question that you ask each other from time to time is :
“If you could take 1 pill everyday and this would fill the nutritional needs you have and you would not feel hungry, would you take it?”

Some days I feel I would take it gladly since these are the days where you have nothing to eat and if you are gonna eat out you know all the places and you are a bit fed  up.

Other days I would never take such a thing, because I would never be able to give up pizza, kebab, chicken, beef and such stuff, I really love food way too much.

Well, I just put this together since there was a calm period here at work for the moment, I will try and post a bit more often for you few that still check me once in a while.

Tomorrow 4 friends from Sweden is coming down so I will try to post pictures and some stories perhaps.

Take care.

Time filler

Tuesday, November 13, 2012 Posted by Alexander Lucas No comments

Malta, yeah I think it’s all good for now.

I am getting more and more used to work and that in itself makes it easier to do since I feel I do not have to ask for as much.

I always thought that I would work with something regarding poker if I started working in the e-gaming industry since I have been in this area for almost 10 years now, both as a player and as an affiliate.

But for now I will do my work as good as I can and if something opens up within poker I might apply, but how knows what will happen in the future.

I know a few things for sure at this point, stuff like me being too heavy and lazy, that I will play Battle of Malta (and I feel like a win should be in just the right time) and that I have taken days off for BoM and for the Swedish Championship the following week, which I am looking forward to since 4-5 friends is coming down during these 2 events.

I will try and post as much pictures and info about the two weeks from 22nd of Nov up until 2nd of Dec and keep you up to what is happening, and if anyone is winning any events.

I really feel I have to write a different blog, so the next blog will be one of two things, either a more in depth blog about how my thoughts go about certain things, or a very simple no brainer blog about nothing at all (like this).

Btw, Giants schedule does NOT look promising for securing a playoff spot.

Green Bay Packers, @ Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, @ Atlanta Falcons, @ Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles

And having the Cowboys run past would be the worst, cause then Fjuno will start talking shit again, which we do not like haha.
